Broncos fans celebrated a super win this past weekend, and the Castle Rock Star will soon show its spirit, too.

The Star atop the Rock has been a Castle Rock tradition since the 1930s. It traditionally turns off for the season following the National Western Stock Show, which was last Saturday. But it also traditionally celebrates the Broncos going to the Super Bowl. Later this week, Castle RockFirefighters will work to change the Star lights to blue and orange.

Replacing those bulbs is a super task, and safety of those doing the work is a priority. (The photo here shows our firefighters changing the 88 bulbs a couple years back.) They will do so again this week, once wind factors cooperate.
